Plan the Project Around Patient Care
Healthcare projects have to protect patient care while meeting technical, regulatory, and operational requirements. Kent brings healthcare planning, coordination, and field experience to each phase.

THE OWNER'S SITUATION
The facility cannot stop serving patients while the project moves forward.
Healthcare owners must balance clinical needs, compliance, budgets, equipment, staff workflows, patient experience, and construction risk. Renovations may occur next to occupied rooms, procedure spaces, or critical systems. New facilities must be ready not only for construction completion, but for licensing, equipment, staff, and operational turnover.
Kent is a strong fit when:
- The project will occur in an active healthcare facility.
- Clinical operations, patient flow, or life-safety systems must remain protected.
- The work involves phased renovations, shutdowns, or complex equipment.
- Leadership needs early cost, schedule, and constructability guidance.
- The facility must support long-term clinical workflows and future change.
How Kent
solves it.
Experience with the realities of active healthcare facilities.
Kent supports hospitals, health systems, outpatient providers, imaging centers, specialty clinics, and pharmacy environments. Our teams coordinate infection control, interim life safety, phasing, medical equipment, infrastructure, stakeholder communication, and facility turnover around the needs of care delivery.
Plan around care delivery
We work with clinical and facility teams to understand the people, workflows, and operational constraints the project must protect.
Protect active operations
Phasing and construction planning account for patient safety, life safety, infection control, access, and critical facility operations.
Coordinate specialized requirements
Kent helps align medical equipment, infrastructure, vendors, and building systems with the project schedule.
Keep decisions visible
Owners receive clear information about progress, upcoming impacts, risk, and the decisions needed to keep the project moving.
Prepare for operational turnover
Construction completion is coordinated with equipment readiness, inspections, staff needs, and the transition into patient care.

Challenge
The new specialty hospital was constructed on the second floor of an occupied hospital, directly above active Cath Lab and Emergency Department spaces. Patient safety, infection control, life safety, utility connections, and daily operations all had to be protected.
Kent's Approach
Kent coordinated detailed phasing, Level IV infection-control measures, hospital stakeholders, designers, contractors, utility tie-ins, and specialized systems throughout the project.
Results
The new specialty hospital was completed while the host hospital remained operational, expanding access to long-term acute care in the region.
Specialties We Support
Kent works across three core healthcare environments, each with different operational, technical, and regulatory demands.
PATIENT CARE
From inpatient environments to outpatient clinics and specialty care, Kent plans construction around the people and operations the facility supports. Phasing, safety, access, workflow, and continuity of care remain central throughout the project.
DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING
Imaging projects require close coordination among equipment, shielding, infrastructure, vendors, access, and active operations. Kent helps connect those requirements so the space, equipment, and installation stay aligned.
PHARMACY & CLEANROOMS
Pharmacy and cleanroom projects bring specialized facility requirements, equipment, compliance considerations, and construction coordination into a highly controlled environment. Kent helps owners bring those pieces together from planning through turnover.
