The Bayou Church // 78,011 SF // Renovation of Existing Campus and Expansion

The Bayou Church Expansion project, situated in the heart of Acadiana, was a multi-year planning venture aimed at providing the existing church with over 32,000 square feet of much-needed space. Following significant hurricane damage to their separated ministry building, our team collaborated directly with The Bayou Church. Through thoughtful planning efforts, we successfully provided a solution to rebuild their entire campus under one roof.

The church's dedicated project team worked tirelessly to offer the congregation a modernized space for worship and gathering. Their efforts encompassed a new main entrance, a newly renovated main auditorium space, the addition of a state-of-the-art multimedia theater venue, and a centralized gathering area featuring a convenient café.

With the additional square footage, we incorporated a new wing for kindergarten through 5th-grade classrooms and theaters. Our construction efforts also played a crucial role in transforming almost every part of the existing church. This involved renovating areas into multipurpose rooms and revamped offices or preschool classrooms. For instance, the project included converting the church’s “Commons” space into a video production room and multiple worship team offices that were critically needed. We achieved this by building a new, more centralized “Commons” area.

Finally, we constructed a new 5,500 square-foot Butler Storage facility on the project’s property edge, serving as a convenient location for facilities, maintenance, and extra storage. Between the church facilities building and the main campus lies a stunning garden area, ideal for hosting outdoor events such as weddings and concerts.

Construction ultimately comprised structural steel framing, interior and exterior metal studs framing, brick for the exterior skin, and a few areas of metal wall panels to allow for a seamless tie-in transition from the existing church to the new.
