Neuroscience & Orthopedics is a multi-phase project consisting of a new 45,426 sf structural steel addition on top of an existing 1st floor medical clinic; 19,874 sf. new two-story gym addition with laminated wood beams and T&G structural decking; outdoor artificial turf rehab area, a therapy pool, (219) new parking spaces, and motor court expansion. Expansion of clinical space for patient care was also accomplished through renovating 7,200 sf of existing administration office space. Unique project challenges included phased construction to limit patient disruption, structural expansion of the existing primary structure over an active patient clinic, and infection control mitigation during a major building envelope renovation.
