Streamlining Success with Preferred Design-Build Excellence

Partnership Success: Butler and Konecrane

Explore the Scott Equipment Project in Mandeville, Louisiana with Jake Palmisano, Project Manager, and Casey McGinnis, Superintendent. Scott Equipment, now an 18,000-square-foot facility, showcases a seamless collaboration between Butler and Konecrane. The project includes a Butler Building, office space, and a warehouse with two overhead cranes – a result of effective teamwork and a design-build approach.

Smart Design Choices

Inside the covered area, two 6-ton shop cranes designed by Butler and Konecrane efficiently handle equipment servicing. A key consideration was preventing damage to concrete floors caused by heavy track equipment. The solution? 6-inch I beams integrated into the slabs, ensuring smooth movement without impacting the concrete.

Efficient Entrance and Security Measures

Automated 18x18 roll-up doors at the entrance improve accessibility for Scott Equipment's services. Security is prioritized with a 3-hour firewall separating offices from the mechanic shop, extending into the parts department. Additional fire protection comes from a fire shutter isolating the parts department and office from the mechanic shop.

Comfort in the Mechanic Shop

In the mechanic shop, practical measures ensure the workforce's comfort. Two large exhaust fans combat summer heat and ventilate fumes. Each mechanic has control over a dedicated shop fan, contributing to a comfortable working environment.
