Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks
An existing MRI suite at the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks was renovated to accommodate a new Philips Ingenia 1.5T Omega MRI machine. This machine creates an ambient experience, making patients more comfortable during the MRI process. Patients choose a serene background display coupled with calming background sounds. The ambient experience reduces patient stress and increases efficiency by having fewer exams to reschedule with a physician-prescribed sedative. The enclosure is larger than usual, and patients report that the enclosure is not as confining as previously remembered. The new digital interface from the latest MRI coil technology makes use of an all-digital interface providing up to 40% more signal to noise. This leads to better images acquired in a shorter scan time. Creating an optimally comfortable space is important for all patients, especially those that suffer from PTSD. This machine is the perfect fit for the Veterans Health Care System.
